It didn't sound like a remix to me. It just seemed like you built off the original song to make a whole new song, with the exception of the first minute and a half. That part of the song was excellent, and I was eager to hear the rest. After that section though, is when it seemed you started just building off the tempo, main tune, etc. to make your own little song. That part was good, but doesn't deserve a 10, in my opinion.
